2008 BET AWARDS

The 2008 BET Awards just wrapped up and I wish I had a fabulous choice of starlets dressed to impressed, but I don’t. Overall, styling was acceptable. As usual Rihanna looked gorgeous wearing Giambattista Valli Spring 08. Actually that was the only designer clothing I recognized on the red carpet.

HIGH-WAISTED

High-waisted high fashion continues to be a staple clothing article for summer. If you plan to make a high-waisted purchased for summer I suggest buying pants as we are sure to see this trend in the fall, so why not get your moneys worth. You will notice high-waisted fashion is meant to be worn with the top tucked in..there is no way around this. Therefore I’ve found that this style looks best on those with smaller waist. For the record, my girl Lindsay Price is rockin this sleek summery black&white high-waisted ensemble.

HAPPY SUMMER!!!

In the States, today is officially the first day of summer. But don’t break this awful news to a few fashion starlets still sporting booties and thick gladiator pumps. Rihanna is determined to wear her eclectic collection of Balenciaga lace-up gladiators and Louboutin ankle boots, no matter what the weather dictates – and I can’t blame her, the boots ARE sweet. Personally, I wonder how the everyday gal could pull off such a dramatic look on an 80 degree day??

KIRA PLASTININA U.S LAUNCH - Los Angeles

Kira Plastinina, Russian socialite and daughter of multi-millionaire Sergei Plastinin throws herself a US Launch party in L.A to celebrate her new U.S flagship stores; one store opened in NYC last month.
What’s the catch here?? Besides using daddy’s money to launch her own clothing line; which Kira plans to have a total of 21 U.S locations by the end of the year…Kira is only 15 YEARS OLD!!! What is the world coming to when a 15 y/o is called a ‘designer’?? Thank goodness Kira knows her audience and has targeted the 15-24 age range as her main customer base.
