Fall is upon us and I personally can’t wait to start wearing this years trends. The best way to kick off the season is by wearing fall nail colors. Rihanna is sporting what is sure to be the replacement to the ‘black nail trend’ of last year; enter metallic gray nail enamel. Runway trends predict lots of golden goddess dresses, purple-haze and grey metallic tailored pieces on store shelves, see Proenza Schouler below. I predict gray metallic (Chanel in Kaleidoscope)and various plum colored nail enamel (see OPI France Collection or Cafe Cuties) will be most popular with cooper/gold tones as the wild card (Chanel Fiction or Cove Cooper by Essie).

Trend Watch: CHUNKY MONKEY
Count on wearing multi-strand necklaces or one large statement necklace this fall. Baubles seen on the catwalk during Fall Fashion Week ranged from long gold hoops by Phillip Lim to flamboyant glittery gems at Balenciaga.
One tip: Avoid layering chucky necklaces, very few people can pull it off.
Christian Siriano's New Collection - Exclusively for Bluefly
fyi...Christian Siriano, our favorite Project Runway winner to date, has released a few sample pieces for sale on Bluefly.com.
There are very few items left for sale, so I’m wondering if Christian’s pieces are selling out since the release yesterday??

ROLAND MOURET RESORT 2009, Paris
This is not Roland Mouret's RM Resort line, it's his spring collection, and show cased in Paris months before Spring Fashion Week, and will be delivered to stores by November. Sticking to his well known 50’s silhouette then turning up the heat with one-shoulder taffeta dresses, slate colored work wear and red hot evening gowns. My favorites are marked with a *.

SHOP-the-LOOK: Gucci Resort 2009
Not everyone (almost no one) can afford to buy fashion straight from the runways. Instead save a thousand dollars or more and shop-da-look. After all, isn't imitation the sincerest form of flattery???
Pepe Leather Jacket at ASOS $650
Long Lotus Corded DressPatrizia $495.00
Yumi Lace Dress $109 (U.S)
GUCCI RESORT 2009
Gucci’s Frida Giannini presented Resort 2009, mounted in the garden of the seventeenth-century Villa Aurelia in Rome, supposedly the same place Frida thru her wedding party 3 years earlier. Tan, bronzed, glowing and flowing was the look of the runway models, with breezy resort dresses and wavy 70’s hair. Gucci’s signature resort
palette of white, caramel, burnt orange, teal, and python paraded effortlessly down the runway.

Valentino Fall 2008 Haute Couture
Alessandra Facchinetti, the young designer who replaced Valentino, presented her romantic interpretation of fashion in Paris. I admire Alessandra’s courage to create ruffled voluminous skirts and creamy-dreamy jackets. Alessandra worked with Valentino's oeuvre of pristine lunch suits, flowery embroidery, and red dresses to create her own spectacular fall line.
