HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Happy New Year readers!! It appears the nasty economy didn’t cause all to sit home and wallow. Vegas and New York City hosted some of the most notable celebrity parties. Starlets such as Carmen Electra, Kim Kardashian and Mena Suvari wore a familiar NYE trend; bedazzled, shimmery, eye catching tops and cocktail dresses.

Mena Suvari in my favorite look of the evening; backless top, candy-color nails and black leather booties (minus the crazy necklace Mena insist on wearing time and time again).

Fergie wearing Gucci Fall 08 Collection, I'm not sure of the designer for the little black dress, but something about the construction of the bust area on this dress is off.

RUFFLES AND LACE

Okay minus the lace, ruffles are making their way back onto everything; from dresses to girly chiffon blouses. Carmen Electra obviously loves this ultra feminine look, as do I. Zhang Ziyi in Armani Prive and Rihanna in Zac Posen both chose blue taffeta ruffled dresses at red carpet events this year.

I LOVE these romantic ruffle dresses by BEBE. Now, they are different dresses; the black dress was designed exclusively by Tara Subkoff for BEBE. The orange sleeveless cotton ruffle dress is backless and is sold out online, however I called a few BEBE stores in Chicago and found the dress - picking mine up tomorrow :
