TEMPERLEY LONDON Spring ‘08

Another fashion show that I will attend next week is London Temperley. Again, I like the fact that this designer did not use overly bright colors in her spring line, but I think I prefer Rebecca Taylor’s romantic view point. What do you think? Will be interesting to see what they have in mind for the fall!

It must be my lucky year as I have been invited to NY FALL FASHION WEEK, which starts February 1st!! Over the next week I will showcase the designers I received invitations from. Rebecca Taylor has a strong feminine, yet romantic line without using flowers or pastels. Me likey!!

YOU GLOW GIRL!

I felt the need to bring up the fact that several celebs are hell bent on bringing back neon clothing from the 80’s!











Victoria Beckham slid into this tight flower-patterned neon yellow strapless dress last month, and sported a neon pink bra under her vintage zebra print dress at the MTV awards last fall. Rihanna looks pretty in a body hugging neon pink Cavalli gown. Rihanna also wore a neon yellow bra under her tank top at the NRJ Awards on Friday -LOVE THE HAIR!



But I’m not sure that I want to see a bunch a girls walking around showing off their bras this summer! That’s all that I will say about this.

THROW BACK

Hot off the Ready-to-Wear runway - 50’s inspired dresses as in the style of Kim Novak in Vertigo, done to perfection for the modern girl.

London based French designer Roland Mouret débuted his Spring 2008 Ready-to-Wear collection last week in Paris…kinda late to present a spring line don’t you think? As fall fashion shows start Feb 1st! I digress.. I’m desperately seeking a RM Moon Dress from fall ‘07 or that yellow spring ‘08 dress. Not fair to compare Dita Von Teese and Kelly Osborn in the same dress...hummm.

Another favorite is Black Halo, and these designer duds are more affordable ($300-400). Kelly Ripa is wearing the Jackie O dress from last season. This seasons dress is the Silk Chiffon & Tweed Dress as seen on the cover of Lucky magazine. Available at Saks.

TRENCH TREND

Nina Garcia says that a classic trench is a "must have" for any chic wardrobe. And I believe her! However, this year your trench needs to have a bit more attitude. Go for plaid like Dita Von Teese wearing Jean Paul Gaultier (minus the horrid Peter Pan hat).
If you must stick with the traditional tan trench go for something with swing or a big belt, notice Katie Holmes wearing a fab Lanvin Trench.



I’m really lucky that my little sis brought me a to-die-for zebra print trench last year, very similar to the Christian Dior Spring 08 Zebra Trench pictured…because if she hadn’t I would be looking to borrow $$$ to buy this fabulous YSL Leopard print coat from the Nieman Marcus last-call sale for $1000 bucks(60% off)!!!! How hot would this jacket look paired with beige patent-leather Louboutin’s?

BIG BIRD

New to the animal-textured bag trend is the ostrich embossed leather bag. Unless you purchase this print in a light color it can look heavy and perhaps too fall like. Halle Berry is toting the Bulgari Ostrich tote in Olive and Victoria Beckham is ‘of course’ sporting a signature Hermes Purple Ostrich bag..really love the purple color.

SIDE SWEPT

At last! A new hair trend besides the Posh Pob (bob)..even though I am guilty of sporting the Pob myself. Luv Kellie Pickler’s side swept hair, very sexy – Aubry O’Day, from Making The Band, is trying way too hard.

I suppose we are not losing the bang this year, but the trend is less of a heavy bang and more of a fringed bang. Katie Holmes did herself a favor by adding a bang to her cropped bob as well as some much needed eyeliner.

SUPER SIZE IT!

Although these models are super skinny, this year’s oversized clutch is not. While these Fendi clutches are huge..I’m assuming Fendi will market a smaller version of this runway look. It's a good thing the new clutch is roomier - let’s face it ladies, we couldn’t fit anything in those baguettes!

WASH OUT

Gone are those awful baby-doll dresses from last summer! This spring find yourself a colorful shift dress, which unlike the baby-doll will give your figure more shape and show some leg at the same time.
