Dita Von Teese (born Heather Renée Sweet on September 28, 1972) is a popular American burlesque artist, model and actress. She is one of the instigators of the burlesque revival and has been a considerable factor in bringing burlesque to mainstream attention. Her fame increased during her relationship with Marilyn Manson, to whom she was married from 2005 to 2007. The burlesque star also revived a nail trend from the '20s, lacquering her tips scarlet and leaving a tiny white crescent at the nail bed – a retro take on the French manicure. Not sure why Dita Von Teese is left off those silly People and US best dressed list when clearly Dita hasn’t had a bad day this year. Of course I realize there are more than 3 months left in 2008; however, in my book we have a clear winner when it comes to best dressed! Not sure why Dita Von Teese is left off those silly People and US best dressed list when clearly Dita hasn’t had a bad day this year. TRENCH TREND

Nina Garcia says that a classic trench is a "must have" for any chic wardrobe. And I believe her! However, this year your trench needs to have a bit more attitude. Go for plaid like Dita Von Teese wearing Jean Paul Gaultier (minus the horrid Peter Pan hat).
If you must stick with the traditional tan trench go for something with swing or a big belt, notice Katie Holmes wearing a fab Lanvin Trench.



I’m really lucky that my little sis brought me a to-die-for zebra print trench last year, very similar to the Christian Dior Spring 08 Zebra Trench pictured…because if she hadn’t I would be looking to borrow $$$ to buy this fabulous YSL Leopard print coat from the Nieman Marcus last-call sale for $1000 bucks(60% off)!!!! How hot would this jacket look paired with beige patent-leather Louboutin’s?
