INTERNATIONAL TRAVELS

On Sunday I watched Anthony Bourdain’s travel channel show, No Reservations, in which Anthony traveled to Shanghai, Indonesia, Namibia, and Ghana. Okay, I confess, those were four individual shows; I had nothing better to do. Anyhow, I digress - visions of nature and colors of the countries made me wonder which designer used ethnic motifs in their spring collection. Then I came upon Diane Von Furstenberg’s spring/summer silk dresses in inspirational ethnic patterns and colors.

DIANE VON FURSTENBERG Fall Fashion Week NYC

Furstenberg is an American fashion designer best known for her hallmark wrap dress. Her fall ’08 line was presented yesterday in New York City’s Bryant Park 'Tent'. Diane is taking us back to the 50’s with her flapper inspired cocktail dresses . I didn’t notice many ‘wrap’ dresses on Diane’s runway and since this is the 5th designer to utilize the 50’s as inspriation, I’m actually quite bored by this line!
