Fall Couture week continues with shows by Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel, Givenchy and Jean Paul Gaultier. Have you noticed all the tweed on display for the fall?? My favorite thus far is Givenchy for the eclectic mix of ethnic models and wearable fashion.
Ahhhhh…just as I was about to self-diagnose my own fashion-blogging-funk I realized Paris was the host to Haute Couture Fashion Week yesterday!!! First and foremost, I love PARIS, it’s the most amazing place I have visited by far. Paris is pure heaven, mix in elegant fashion by John Galliano for Christian Dior and the result is refreshingly fun - for Haute Couture. In case you ever wondered..Haute Couture is used to describe all high-fashion custom-fitted clothing, whether it is produced in Paris or in other fashion capitals such as Milan. Haute couture is made to order for a specific customer, and it is usually made from high-quality, expensive fabric and hand sewn with extreme attention to detail and finish, often using time-consuming, hand-executed techniques. Aka..not for the everyday gal to own.
The 2008 BET Awards just wrapped up and I wish I had a fabulous choice of starlets dressed to impressed, but I don’t. Overall, styling was acceptable. As usual Rihanna looked gorgeous wearing Giambattista Valli Spring 08. Actually that was the only designer clothing I recognized on the red carpet.
yellow color is fabulous on her but the dress is ill fitted!High-waisted high fashion continues to be a staple clothing article for summer. If you plan to make a high-waisted purchased for summer I suggest buying pants as we are sure to see this trend in the fall, so why not get your moneys worth. You will notice high-waisted fashion is meant to be worn with the top tucked in..there is no way around this. Therefore I’ve found that this style looks best on those with smaller waist. For the record, my girl Lindsay Price is rockin this sleek summery black&white high-waisted ensemble.

In the States, today is officially the first day of summer. But don’t break this awful news to a few fashion starlets still sporting booties and thick gladiator pumps. Rihanna is determined to wear her eclectic collection of Balenciaga lace-up gladiators and Louboutin ankle boots, no matter what the weather dictates – and I can’t blame her, the boots ARE sweet. Personally, I wonder how the everyday gal could pull off such a dramatic look on an 80 degree day??
